There are over 72,000 inhabitants living in this area and is home to a few thousand foreigners.<\/p>\n

Municipality of Bansk\u00e1 Bystrica<\/h3>\n

With 72,813 inhabitants, Bansk\u00e1 Bystrica is the sixth most populous municipality in Slovakia.
\nThe City of Bansk\u00e1 Bystrica has its own representative bodies \u2013<\/strong> the Mayor and the City Parliament, as well as the advisory bodies of councils and committees.
\nThe Municipality Office consists of different departments dealing with various life situations:<\/p>\n

Rights and Duties towards the City<\/h3>\n

Anyone who holds a temporary or permanent residence including foreigners on the territory of the city has the right to participate in the municipality<\/strong>.
\nForeigners can participate in municipality meetings; address your suggestions or petitions to the mayor, the city parliament and\u00a0 advisory bodies of the municipality.
\nOnly residents of a region\/city\/town with permanent residence have municipality<\/strong> voting rights<\/strong>.
\nForeigners with permanent residence have the right to vote and to be elected to the city\/regional parliament, run for\u00a0mayor\/governor, and also vote in local\/regional referendums.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, every inhabitant has duties towards the city, such as the duty to help maintain order in the village.
